The Village was completed in 2010 for the 2010 Winter Olympics to house the athletes and Olympic officials coming from around the world for the event. After the Olympic Games, it became residential housing that includes area parks and various retails and service shops. The Vancouver Olympic Village is known as one of the environmentally greenest communities in the world.
With such great architecture, beautiful greenery and the amazing views when lit up at night, this location was the perfect choice for Ashton and Charlie.
Here is what Joel had to say about photographing this session at the Vancouver Olympic Village.
“I met Ashton earlier this year when we collaborated on a styled wedding shoot as she is the happy owner of Bespoke Decor Rentals, a vintage decor rental company in Vancouver. Ashton and Charlie were a ton of fun to work with. They were easy-going and totally in love, so getting that romantic look to their images was just a breeze. We shot at sunset and there was a haze in the sky so the lighting was perfect for a golden glow around these two lovebirds. Though it was a bit cold out, these two were total champs. My favorite part was the impromptu dancing in the park!”
