Today we want to share a styled wedding shoot with you that is very unique that we hope will help inspire future brides and grooms. Styled wedding shoots can include a fun theme that many couples may not originally consider for their big day, whether it’s an adventurous idea or inspired by a movie.
These beautiful glamping wedding photos were captured as a styled shoot by Angela and James, with ShootAnyAngle Wedding Photography, and they will give you some serious outdoor wedding ideas! Jenn and Chris were photographed at a private lake in Northern California. Here is what Angela had to say about the glamping theme:
“This is a styled shoot to give couples an idea for a fun and unique wedding. One thing I love seeing on wedding sites is a shot with a gorgeous scenic background. So, we planned our shoot to take place during a family camping trip in Northern California at a remote private lake similar to Lake Alpine.
We wanted the theme to be all things camping but with more of a “glamping” look. For the dress, I took an old lace maxi dress and redesigned it to be a skirt that included a train (with a bow) that would float in the water. I was so thrilled to see that it floated the whole time! We paired that with a red plaid button up shirt like the ones we all wear when hanging out while camping (though, we purposely didn’t use it until the shoot or else it would have had a layer of dust on it).”
We hope you enjoy these gorgeous glamping wedding photos as much as we do!
Here is what Angela had to say about the bouquet choice:
“Though I did bring many items up with me to the lake, I purposely only brought a ribbon up for the bouquet. Then, once at the lake, I gathered up pine cones, sticks, deer moss, and branches to make the bouquet only out of natural items (and a little bit of glue to attach the pine cones to sticks). This gave it a very natural and relaxed look that fit perfectly with the theme. Once done, we left the bouquet there for the next campers to enjoy.”
Here is what Angela had to say about the layout of the table:
“The tablescape utilized wood plaques as placemats and some shrubbery and pine cones from the surrounding area. For the cake, Hayley Lovgren took point. She visited the local grocery store and found two chocolate cakes that she re-iced and layered to give it the look you see in the shots. To give the whole scene a unique look, the entire tablescape was done in the water so that the tablecloth and burlap runner would float in the water. Logs served as chairs. This was actually inspired by a formal party my husband’s family threw years ago. The table was placed in the middle of a lake on a sandbank, so there was only a foot of water. Guests were dressed formally on top but usually had on shorts on the bottom. I loved the look, so I used that same idea here.”
Here is what Angela had to say about the DIY vibe of the styled shoot:
“The place cards and invitations were another DIY project. They were all wood burned by myself to go along with the rustic and woodland theme. I think this idea can easily be utilized for weddings on a smaller scale in the form of a welcome sign or other decorative piece.”
Here is what Angela had to say about the landscape of the shoot:
“For the shoot itself, we utilized the surrounding beauty and setting sun. We shot in a nearby meadow and in the lake itself so that our models would always be surrounded by natural scenic landscapes and stunning lighting. We’re really happy with the results, and we hope you are too!”
