It is our pleasure to introduce Mariela and Demetris Campbell to our list of Riverside wedding photographers. This pair, who make up Mariela Campbell Photography+ Cinema, have been married for nearly ten years and have four children who are their pride and joy. Although Mariela has been capturing the memories of friends and family for as long as she can remember, it was Demetris who pushed her to take photography seriously. What began as portrait photography quickly became a profession for Mariela, who credits positive referrals at this early time to her success. She classifies her photography style as a blend of commercial, photojournalism, and fine art.
Her two cents on selecting a wedding photographer?
“Ask for your photographer’s turn around time for post production and details, and be sure to read your agreement. Also make sure you are getting the photographer you are interviewing and not someone else.”
When it comes to inspiration, Mariela is mainly influenced by nature; colors, light, geometric views, and life events. On a more professional level, she admires the work of Jose Villa and Jerry Ghionis.
What makes this talented duo stand out from the rest? Mariela considers it a must that her and her husband include engagements in their collections. She loves that it gives her the opportunity to learn about her bride and groom as well and allows them to feel more at ease with how her and her husband work.
“Our session will always include a sit-down, atmospheric, conversational energy after the shoot.”
Something that most people wouldn’t know about our newest Riverside wedding photographers? Mariela is from Australia and speaks Spanish (a result of having Chilean parents). She loves art and anything that challenges her to be creative- drawing, painting, sewing, etc. Demetris? He is silly and reserved, but according to Mariela, quite the joker.
