Old Town Sacramento has a beautiful 28 acres along the waterfront that offers so much history and great achievement. The area has seen fires, floods, it was where the Transcontinental Railroad was founded and was the home of California’s first thriving business district. Even after all of that history, the area still continues to thrive with shopping, dining and lots of entertainment. With so much beauty and history in the area, Kevin and Renee had their very own history together here and decided they wanted to have Old Town Sacramento engagement photos to help them remember for years to come how their love story began.
“For Kevin and Renee’s engagement shoot, they decided it would be wonderful to revisit the place where Kevin proposed: Old Town Sacramento,” said Kelly with Kelly Marie Photography. She had the opportunity to photograph this couple during their Old Town Sacramento engagement photos and here is little more of what she had to say about them and the location:
“The area has so many wonderful buildings; it’s full of photo opportunities! After walking around the train station, we found ourselves outside The Firehouse Restaurant, where Kevin took Renee for a special dinner the night he proposed. It only made sense that after this, the couple would lead me to the docks, the exact place where Kevin popped the question. I loved catching a glimpse into the couple’s love story, and I couldn’t think of a better background.”
We hope you enjoy these great engagement photos as much as we do!
There is nothing better than when your engagement or wedding photography helps to tell a story of your life together. Doing your research on all your local photographers will help you find the perfect one that you love who can help to capture all those special memories, just like Kelly was able to do for Kevin and Renee.
The Firehouse Restaurant was built in 1858 and was originally the home of the Sacramento No. 3 Firehouse, which gives a unique setting to such amazing food! The building was the first in Old Town Sacramento to be restored and is designated a historical landmark. The Executive Chef, Deneb Williams, works closely with local farmers, fishers and growers to create a fresh and seasonal rotating menu. What a perfect location for Kevin to propose to Renee and for them to return to take amazing engagement photos!
