We are delighted to welcome Gillian Reinhardt of Carolina Studios to our list of Myrtle Beach wedding photographers! Gillian considers her style to be mixed, but focuses on lifestyle photography with a photojournalistic edge.
“I love the candid, non-posed moments in life the most but I also believe that sometimes, as photographers, it is our job to create some photography and not just take the photos.”
Photography has been a part of Gillian’s life since she used to follow her mom around (a photojournalist and a newspaper writer) with her little 110 film camera. She got away from it for a while, was a hotel manager, became a mom, and then life came full circle and allowed her the chance to become a photographer again.
Photography is a natural fit for Gillian, as she is a very visual person and avid people-watcher. She has always loved human nature, action and reaction. She also has a love for 1940’s street photography and some of the great photographers of the early 20th century, such as Charles Ebbet. Her favorite? His iconic photograph featuring men eating lunch way up high while building a sky scraper.
“Images like that tell the story of life. It’s humbling to think that as a wedding and portrait photographer that my images will be shown to generations to come.”
“I want you to have that ‘Oh my gosh! This is it!’ moment.”
