SnapKnot loves giving away BIG prizes because want to give back to our amazing community of photographers. This winter, we decided to giveaway your choice of  a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G ED or Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM as a prize! Our lucky winner was Cathie Crow, from CLCrow Photography in Myrtle Beach. She chose the Nikon lens and went straight to the beach to test it out.

Cathie told us:

“I am LOVING this lens.  I first found out when I got home from work and a photographer friend of mine posted about it in one of the local photography groups on Facebook.  I was in shock, I never win anything. It was also the day of the HUGE mega millions lottery drawing.  Everyone told me I should go buy a ticket, I knew that I had used my good luck for not only the day but probably for the next ten years.  I did buy a ticket though and won $8.  I found your email letting me know, that night and the following day I was telling everyone about it.  I posted about it on both my facebook profile and my business page.

I’m not a morning person at all and the first 2 days I had the lens I got up early to take photos of the sunrise here in Myrtle Beach. The first morning, I got some great shots of the sunrise over the ocean through Surfside Pier.  The second morning, the sunrise left a lot to be desired so I just took photos of the SkyWheel and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.  In those two days, I took over 800 photos.  (I was doing HDR photography).  I love how quiet the lens is.”

Cathie said she’s usually only behind the camera, so she shared with us some of her photos instead:
