It has always been tradition for the bride and groom to not see each other on their wedding day until she first walks down the isle. Lately, couples have gained interest in taking first look photos where the two get to see each other alone before the ceremony. It is a special time where you can talk and just spend time together all fancy and beautiful in your wedding gown and tuxedo. The first look is also a perfect time for your photographer to capture the look on your groom’s face as he sees you for the first time, and to also photograph the two of you spending those few quality moments together before you say “I do.” Looking for a few reasons as to why you should take first look photos? Read about four great reasons here.
Cory and McCall decided to take first look photos, but Cory needed a little persuading. Good thing he agreed because these photos taken by Abbey Kyhl at the gorgeous St. George LDS Temple in Cedar City, Utah are simply STUNNING.
Here is what Abbey had to say about the couple:
“Cory didn’t want to do a first look. He thinks they are cheesy. The whole “her tapping him on the back” or the blindfold, he just wasn’t going to do it. But we talked him into at least turning around for a reveal. Nothing cheesy. And boy did he have the perfect reaction! So genuine. I know that he thinks McCall is gorgeous, but I don’t think he was prepared at all for how amazingly stunning she was going to be.”
We think that McCall was just an absolutely gorgeous bride. And as you can see from the look on the groom’s face, he agreed 100% with us! I bet he was so happy to take these first look photos when he finally got to see his bride!
We just love the way her blue flowers match his cobalt blue suit. Even the pop of red from her lipstick stands out and everything just looks so perfect together! Abbey agreed with us as well. She said:
“As their photographer, I was taken away by how gorgeous she was. Every detail was absolutely perfect. Hair and makeup by Julie Thomas Style could not have been more perfect to compliment her gorgeous jewels and amazing take your breath away wedding gown from Celebrate the Occasions.”
And his look was just as amazing. A cobalt blue suit from Zara with all the perfect accessories looked straight out of a catalog.
These two together were a dream come true, and to be able to capture their first look session was an amazing experience!”
Thank you so much Abbey for sharing these amazing first look photos between Cory and McCall. These prove that taking photos together right before you said “I do” are so totally worth it! (Plus, it doesn’t hurt to get a little extra quality time with your love!)
