We love a beautiful city wedding and today we are going to showcase an amazing Chinese American wedding right in San Francisco!
Stephanie and Randall chose to celebrate their Chinese American wedding in San Francisco. With their ceremony at Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio and reception at Dogpatch WineWorks, the couple seemingly had the perfect wedding day.
Nick, with Nick Otto Weddings, one of the many amazing SnapKnot members from the San Francisco area, had the opportunity to photograph the couple’s wedding. We also previously shared this couple’s engagement photos that were also photographed by Nick, which are a must-see for any San Francisco Giants fan! Here is what Nick had to say about Stephanie and Randall:
“Stephanie and Randall were actually the first couple I had ever booked through SnapKnot. Their engagement photos were the first photos I had submitted to SnapKnot for publication, so I thought it was appropriate that I submit some photos from their wedding this past weekend. After the rain stopped in the morning, the day turned into a beautiful mix of clouds, fog, and sun as we made our way to the first look at the Palace of Fine Arts. From there we went to Fort Point National Historic Site by way of massive party bus to do some photos. It’s an amazing spot that really lets you feel the scale of the Golden Gate Bridge, because when you are on the roof of Fort Point, the bridge is directly over head and imposing but majestic! We took advantage of the rich red brick and soft light seeping in through hazy windows and around corners.”
We hope you enjoy these beautiful Chinese American wedding photos!
Here is a bit more from Nick:
“The ceremony took place not far away at the Lady of Our Chapel, a delightful old church with subtle stained glass windows in all of the right places. After the ceremony we made our way slowly, sipping Champagne and enjoying the view through the city to Mr. and Mrs Miscellaneous, an ice cream shop, before heading to the reception venue, Dogpatch WineWorks. After having lived in China for almost 10 years, I loved that Stephanie was able to wear both the traditional white wedding dress as well as the Chinese Qipao in red. She looked amazing in both! The evening’s highlight was definitely the Lion Dancers. The groom, Randall, helped found the troupe, Cherng Loong, with the help of his best man. As an added surprise, Randall told everyone that there would only be two lions dancing and the shock and exasperation on everyone’s face, including Stephanie’s, when six lions came out was priceless! It was the finest Lion Dance performance I have ever seen!
Stephanie and Randall have become my friends over the past year so this wedding was special for me, and they did it right! I look forward to getting together with them soon, going over photos, and reminiscing about their wonderful San Francisco wedding!”
