We can’t wait to share with you one of the most positively radiant bride and groom’s we’ve seen to date. Such a special couple, in fact, that Phillip of Blume Photography missed out on this favorite event of the year (the Twilight Criterium) to capture it! Prepare to be awed by this joyful Athens wedding.
“Kristi and Brad impressed us the moment we met them. They had some quality Eileen and I couldn’t quite put our fingers on. They seemed to radiate joy — always smiling and engaged (not just to each other, but engaged with us in conversation).”
“It’s a good representation of their life together: optimistic, others-centered, creative and kind. Their wedding was a tribute to all those qualities. Their private first-look was one of the more emotional, sweetest we can remember.”
Phillip and Eileen felt the excitement in the atmosphere as a crowd of family, friends and co-workers arrived for the anticipated ceremony. Held in a beautifully preserved historic theater, guests filled in the balcony and half moon-shaped floor in the unique, circular building. They married beneath a lace-covered trellis on stage, overhung by a dove-shaped mobile designed by Kristi herself. Kristi’s dress mirrored the historic setting and lace decor – a gorgeously textured gown with retro-style hairpiece and birdcage veil. The floral arrangements and bouquets were fantastical cascades of pink and blue surrounded by creatively hand-sculpted wire containers.
Together with the men’s classic tuxedos, the bridal party looked super-sharp among the city’s art Gecko architecture and at the reception venue, a refurbished brick warehouse. The chocolate chip cookies at the reception were homemade from Brad’s late mother’s recipe — an especially personal and miraculously delicious touch.
“After a long evening of fun and dancing that passed too quickly, Kristi and Brad exited in the glow of sparklers, dimmed only by the radiating joy we saw in them the first time we met.”
