We are delighted to welcome Daniel Kennedy and Nicole Traux of Linked Ring Weddings to our list of Boston, Massachusetts wedding photographers. This pair met at the University of Hartford where they both studied photography, and began dating in 2008. In 2009, Linked Ring Weddings was born, and they have been shooting together ever since. The couple considers their specialty to be conceptual, dynamic, and artsy wedding photography, and while they shoot candids for much of the day, they pose couples/set up lighting for a brief period every wedding.
“We work fast and are very non-invasive. The best compliment we’ve gotten (on multiple occasions) is that we’re like ‘wedding ninjas’ in the sense that we’re barely seen while shooting candids, and are always working for dynamic angles from atop ledges, etc.”
“We can execute an idea far more quickly in a photograph than through illustration or sculpture (both of which we have backgrounds in). You can tell an entire story in an instant with photography.”
Although Nicole developed her first photograph in a darkroom when she was 8 years old, the pair has been shooting professionally for 6 years.
Dan and Nicole are inspired by all of the great artists working in the photography world today. Besides finding inspiration from painters (particularly from the Romantic era), they are often influenced by their colleagues and other photographers working in the industry.
“There is more work coming out than ever before, and if helps keep us fresh and challenged.”
They prefer using Canon equipment and utilize Alien Bees portable strobes and light modifiers.
