Our most recent “Bridesmaids” feature received so much attention that it seemed only natural to extend the invitation to their studly counterparts for our next themed post: The Groomsmen. Call them his buddies, his bros, or his Wolfpack, but the groom is incomplete without these guys. And from what we’ve seen with our photographers so far, the male energy of the groomsmen tends to make for some awesome shots.

Here are some of the best images of the groom’s inner circle, and whether they are swinging from trees or just rocking some awesome threads, we think that these photos make for fabulous inspiration.

“Michael got all his groomsmen some pretty sweet specs for their groomsmen gifts! Nothing looks better than suspenders, bow ties, glasses and well…and groups of handsome men!”

(Above and below) “The groom and his groomsmen were full of personality and had been friends for a long time. They were so fun-loving and overflowing with Texas class with their cowboy boots I knew we had to show it off with some fun, non-traditional photos of the groomsmen throwing the groom in the air. To top it off, we threw in a dance party for good measure.”

“The wedding formals for these guys were almost over and we were about to return to reception when I spotted a great spot for them to jump straight over my head. If you ask right group to do a stunt like this you get a reward in this kind of priceless action shot.”

(Above left) “At some point their little brother became the tallest in the family. These brothers/groomsmen get some air to become taller than the groom.”

(Above right) “It was important to this bride and groom for their wedding party photos to be in front of this structure, Netherlands Carillon or the Bell Tower, symbolizing friendship at the US Marine Corps War Memorial.”

“For this one we used ‘Reservoir Dogs’ as the inspiration. Walking and looking cool. To get it right, I prefer the groom to make eye contact with me and no one else.”

“We took this at the Dearborn Inn (Michigan) where the boys hung out before the ceremony to play some pool and enjoy each other’s company. This was not a posed photo; just picking a cool angle to capture the moment. Props to my assistant Ryan for nailing this shot.”

“The groom specifically requested some images with a “Reservoir Dogs” feel.  Rather than completely copy that iconic image, we put on our own spin to create images that were masculine, relaxed, but also cool and edgy.”
