Depending on who you talk to, rainy wedding days can be either a good thing or a bad thing. Ultimately, while there may be luck associated with rain on your wedding day, a lot of brides and grooms would prefer their wedding days to be filled with sunshine. However, rainy wedding days can make for stunning wedding photography and we surely have some photos that will prove that!
While the rain was not something they hoped for, Kim and Joe had their rainy fall wedding in Stevenson, Washington at Maple Leaf Events. As you will be able to see from the couple’s stunning photos from their special day, the rain ended up being not so much of a bad thing!
Missy, with Missy Fant Photography, had the opportunity to photography the couple’s wedding day. Here is what Missy had to say about Kim and Joe and their wedding:
“A warm and unusually dry fall in the Pacific Northwest turned into a wet and cold fall. Luckily, the colors were still around in the Columbia River Gorge and it gave us the opportunity to capture Kim and her love Joe with some amazing color.
The wedding was held at Maple Leaf Events which is tucked high into the Stevenson, WA hills and over looks the Columbia River. Usually there is an amazing view. On October 10th however, there was just clouds.
It POURED throughout the wedding; they had an indoor area in case of rain. After the ceremony, the sunset and the rain lightened up. We went outside and setup some lighting to capture the amazing couple surrounded by the fall colors. Kim was a pure DIY bride and made an amazing event. Near the end, Joe surprised her with a special gift. It was a hand made wooden box with glasses inside engraved with all of their important dates for Kim to make candles in. They were such an amazing couple!”
We hope you enjoy these rainy fall wedding photos from Kim and Joe!
