We asked Ambre a few questions about herself and we wanted to share it with you as well as some of her work below!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

“I grew up in Southern California and just recently moved up north to Santa Cruz with my husband and our cat, Zeke. Aside from photography I enjoy interior design, spending time with family, crafting ideas seen on Pinterest and being cozy on the couch watching a Netflix marathon.”

Why did you choose to be a photographer?

“After graduating with a degree in interior design and marrying my high-school sweetheart, I pursued my dream. A passion for documenting the joys of life inspired my dreams of wedding photography. My mom is my second shooter. We make a great team, are best friends and our strengths complement each other.”

How long have you been a photographer and what experience do you have?

“Growing up, I was always drawn to recording moments. I can still remember my point and shoot in hand, walking around our backyard taking photographs of birds, insects and our dog. I took photography and film classes in high school and really enjoyed it. After continuing with workshops and courses, I have been professionally shooting weddings for three years.”

How would you classify your style of photography?

“My style of photography would best be described as timeless, romantic and joyful imagery. We have a chance to capture the joys of love with a photo journalistic approach, so those moments can be relived for years to come.”

Who or what are some of your influences on either a personal or professional level?

“A great influence on a professional level is Jasmine Star. She is the classic example of success, while still helping others learn and grow in photography. Another great influence on a personal level would be my faith in God.”

What would you recommend for a couple starting their search for a wedding photographer?

“As a bride once myself, I would suggest that you really connect with the photographer. Of course, it’s also about finding a photographer that fits your budget, but more importantly, finding someone that you would enjoy spending time with. Just think, the majority of your wedding day will be spent with this person, so you want to be comfortable around them. We considered our wedding photographers friends!”
