We are delighted to welcome Robert of iBR Photography to our list of Hattiesburg, Mississippi wedding photographers! Robert started out as a sports photographer shooting his son’s high school football games. Eventually he began photographing events, portraits, and now weddings! He has a flare to “shoot it all” and considers his style of photography to be modern but edgy and creative. He likes to play with shadows and different angles (what he likes to call “light sculpting”).
“When it comes to weddings, I try to be as creative as possible while telling the love story of the bride and groom mixed with friends and family.”
Robert was “that guy” in college who brought a camera with him everywhere he went. He started shooting professionally in 2008, took a short re-education break, and has been photographing even more seriously the last few years.
For professional inspiration, Robert looks to Chris Collins, who gave him great insight on photography. He is also influenced by Mic Fontaine, a fashion photographer from his hometown of Greenville who showed him the ropes. Another on his list? Mississippi native and photographer to stars, Derek Blanks of Atlanta. Says Robert of his influencer:
“He’s a true student of the game. If I can get as creative as him, I think I’m on my way.”
Some fun facts about our Mississippi wedding photographer? Robert is a former track and field athlete from the University of Southern Missisppi and a 15-year IT professiona. He has worked for companies such as DEC, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, Computer Science Corp., and Lockheed-Martin.
“I think there is a direct relationship between nerds and photography. I’m a big techie guy.”
