There is something very special about a small wedding with only your closest family and friends in attendance and that is exactly what Joe and Gina wanted for their wedding. Their intimate Florida wedding was at Boheme Bistro, a small restaurant located in Delray Beach, Florida, that was perfect for the vision of their day.
Tonya with Palm Beach Photography, Inc. had the opportunity to photograph this amazing and intimate Florida wedding between Joe and Gina. Here is what she had to say about the couple and their wedding:
“DIY weddings are some of my favorites because it only seems natural to put your whole heart and soul into something that will last forever. Gina chose a rustic shabby chic design and enjoyed getting carried away with her awesome details. With the help of her good friend & wedding planner, her vision came to life. Gina and Joe chose a small intimate restaurant for their venue and invited only very close friends and family. To get a bit creative we found a local property for bride and groom formals that blended beautifully with the flow of the wedding. The groom was fun-loving and vibrant and kept Gina smiling from the moment of their first look and we loved including some private moments with with their small son getting to see Mommy and Daddy for the first time on wedding day! Gina is a wine enthusiast so incorporating her love for wine into their formal images only seemed natural.”
Gina had the help from her friend Lulu, with Above the Rest Events in creating many of the fabulous DIY details and the amazing decorations and ideas for their special day.
Tonya asked the following Q&A to Joe and Gina to give more background on their life together.
Please provide a little information about who you are/where you live/and what you do: We live in Boynton Beach with our 3 year old named Caiden. Gina is a Sales Account Manager with Konica Minolta and Joe is an Electrician with Mizner Electric.
Tell us about your marriage proposal: Went out to dinner at Luna Rosa and then a moonlit walk on the beach, Joe was too nervous he was going to drop the ring in the sand so he chickened out and waited until we were home. I came into the living room and he was on one knee…low key and genuine just like us. :)
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day and why? When we were pronounced husband and wife. We’ve been a family for so long but knowing and hearing that it was finally official was very emotional for all of us.
What was your favorite design detail of your wedding day and why? The flowers, it was such an important detail to us that we chose to take on the task ourselves. They were PERFECT and because they were something we created with friends and family they were not only beautiful but a labor of love.
Did you incorporate anything that was sentimental into your wedding day? We loved having candles with each of our family members who’ve passed on over looking us during our vows. It felt as though they were there with us.
How did you incorporate your personalities into your wedding day design? We really wanted to keep things simple and beautiful so the focus was on family and friends. The intimate setting provided exactly that, it was just so full of LOVE.”
