There is nothing more romantic than a picnic with the one you love which is why we just had to share with engagement session where James and Nancy decided to have a picnic in the Santa Monica Mountains of California.
Location is so important to your engagement photos and what a beautiful location James and Nancy chose! The Santa Monica Mountains stretch from the Oxnard Plain to the Hollywood Hills and offers so many amazing views. There are 500 miles of trails and you can see a multitude of different habitats and ecosystems which makes for an awesome location for engagement photos!
Using props is also a great idea as it brings some spice to your photos. The picnic theme brings many props throughout their photos and we are thrilled we get to show you their engagement session.
Jerry with Jerry Puts Photography had the opportunity to photograph this Santa Monica Mountains engagement session and this is what he had to say:
“I’ve known both James and Nancy for quite some time, and known them both to be one of the most loving and caring people you could ever meet. Nancy, by far is one of the most creative, and innovative person I know…having the ability and vision to create and bring to life anything she puts her mind to. Having been together for well over a decade and achieving one of the more uncommon titles of being one of the last remaining high school sweethearts left, I knew I wanted to create something extraordinary for this couple!” “We drove about an hour outside of Los Angeles toward the Santa Monica Mountains where we hiked up about an hour to our designated location. By far this wasn’t an easy task with the amount of props we were bringing up to the area. The amount of effort we took to get these images I feel really portrayed the love and awesomeness of this couple and their desire to really create something extraordinary. James and I must have been carrying a load well over 65 lbs., and by the time we got to the top we were both drench in sweat.” “I was really happy how the pictures came out at the end of the day. I really feel like the images reflect how 10 or more years with a partner can really make a session seem so seamless and natural. I really love the light and glare of these images and how they provide such a magical effect. It was by far one of the most easiest and beautiful places I have had the opportunity to shoot at!”
We hope you enjoy the rest of this session!
