A warm, SnapKnot welcome to one of our newest Dawson Creek wedding photographers, Alisha Guild. This talented wife and mother of two considers her style of photography soft, timeless, and clean, and always puts her family first.
Alisha got her start very early, when she shot her first solo wedding at the age of 22. Now, eight years later, here she is! Her roots in photography were formed in a local scrapbook store, and she began with a very basic point and shoot Nikon.
“I cannot believe how much I have grown and learned over the last few years…I always loved playing with cameras and photos and always thought I had the eye.”
As fate would have it, Alisha met her first bride in the very scrapbook store that she got her start. The two struck up a conversation and before she knew it, Alisha had agreed to shoot the formal photos after the bride’s small ceremony. With the belief of this new friend and her current boss instilling her with the courage she needed, Alisha shot those first photos and never looked back. It is for this reason that she feels compelled to admit that photography simply found her.
“One of my very first weddings I was coaching the maid of honor to breath, as I was certain she was going to pass out. Apparently I’m not a good breathing coach because she did pass out- mid ceremony!”
When it comes to advice for couples just starting their search for a wedding photographer, Alisha offers this bit of wisdom: Find someone who’s photos you can connect with first, and then a photographer you can connect with second. Don’t focus on the pricing quite so much, she explains, as at the end of the day the photos last longer than flowers.
A last few fun facts about our Dawson Creek wedding photographer? Alisha grew up a tom boy so not much scares her. She loves wine, chocolate, and anything peanut butter, and considers herself a sucker for a good chick flick with a box of Kleenex.
