Today we’d like to introduce you to Khris Cochran, who publishes DIY Bride, a great resource for brides to plan a wonderful wedding no matter what their budget is. Khris answered a few of our questions about DIY Bride below:
Who are you / What’s your story?
I’m Khris Cochran, the founder and publisher of DIYBride.com. I was a DIY bride for my own wedding way back in 2000 when there were very little resources for do-it-yourselfers. Since then I’ve published two do-it-yourself wedding books and will begin working on my 3rd in a few weeks.
Why did you start DIY Bride?
DIY Bride was launched in 2003 as a way to connect do-it-yourself couples to information and tools that’d help them create the awesome wedding they deserved, no matter what their budget or skill-level.
What can brides find at DIY Bride?
Brides (and grooms) can find over 200 downloads, a bulletin board, hundreds of resources, step-by-step tutorials, planning advice, tips on budgeting, beauty, travel – you name it – all for free.

What makes you different from other wedding blogs/sites?
DIY Bride is different because it comes from a place of wanting to empower couples of all skills and budgets to get hands-on with their wedding planning. We go beyond crafts and really focus on getting couples to become active participants in creating their unique day whatever that looks like to them.
Do you have any advice for other brides planning their weddings?
Celebrate who you are (as a couple) and treat your guests with the utmost care and kindness.

Why should brides avail themselves of online resources like DIY Bride?
The goal of DIY Bride is to empower couples to create their own weddings. We and sites like us are here to take some of the pressure and stress away while sharing some great inspiration and how-to instruction for having a great wedding on a real world budget.
Do you have regular categories or features on the blog or is it just as subjects come up?
A bit of both, really. I have regular topics I cover but add in news, events, and other wedding-related posts when I feel they’d be interesting or relevant to my readers.
