Meet Houston, Texas wedding photographer, Katie Lamb, who’s fresh approach to photography will guarantee contemporary wedding photos that you’ll cherish for a lifetime. The only thing Katie loves more than weddings…is shooting them! In her efforts to capture who you are and who you are as a couple in your photos, she invites you to sit down with coffee (or tea, or ice cream) and get to know each other.

Tell us a bit about yourself. I’m 25 and a newlywed to a pretty cool guy.  We’ve been DINKS (Duel Income, No Kids) this past first year of our  marriage; however the hubs is about to start law school come August.  Besides photography, I love fishing, traveling, working out, painting, decorating, and restoring furniture.

“I was very interested in photography when I was younger; however it wasn’t until I spent time overseas that I discovered my passion and calling for photography.  I majored in Fine Art Photography at Baylor University (Sic ‘Em Bears!) and started my business shortly after I graduated.

I come from a big family, and my two little sisters are my very best friends.  My family adopted them from China at 13 months old, and it is because of them that I am passionate about International Missions.  I have since spent time in China, Africa, and all over Europe photographing their sweet orphan children.”

What’s your preferred type of camera equipment? I’m a Canon girl. My parents gave me my first SLR in High School and I’ve never strayed from Canon since.  I use the Canon 5D Mark I and Canon 5D Mark II and all canon lenses (my favorite being the 50mm 1.4 and 70-200mm 2.8).

Anything advice to Brides planning their wedding?  I know it’s cheesy and cliche, but enjoy the wedding planning process… don’t stress too much over the small stuff.  The most important part of your wedding planning is your photographer and videographer (and I’m not just saying this because I am one!) because, other than your memories which will unfortunately fade over time, it’s the only thing you will have to look back at your special day. … and my greatest advice?  place more of your focus on preparing for your marriage (the rest of your life) and not just your wedding (one day).

Katie’s packages ALL include a CD with your images with the rights to print and post as you wish.
