We are so excited to finally tell you all how Jami and Cameron’s wedding was after she won our bridal giveaway in 2014! She won $2,000 cash to use towards her wedding photographer. Remember that Jami and Cameron met in high school and he proposed to her at midnight on New Year’s Eve. Then, we heard all about their wedding planning and how they were going to have a Nashville wedding at The Hermitage. Now, we are very happy to give you one last bridal winner update from Jami and Cameron… all about how their amazing wedding ended up!
You will also see a few of Jami and Cameron’s favorite wedding photos that were taken by Misty with Trone Photography.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding day?
“There are so many great memories from that day, but the most memorable moment of the wedding day is definitely the first look. I remember walking up to Cameron and that is when it became real. It had hit me for the first time that it was actually our wedding day! We got to have a moment to ourselves and we laughed and talked about our mornings and were so excited to be with each other.”
What was your wedding song that you and Cameron danced your first dance to and why?
“Our first dance song was “Hallelujah (I Love Her So)” by Ray Charles. We both love music so it was hard to narrow it down to just one song, but in the end we both wanted an upbeat song (because we both love to dance) and our mutual love for Ray Charles helped us settle in to the most perfect song for us!”
I know you mentioned you were having a dish that represented each state you lived in. What was each dish and why?
“We had fried cheese curds to represent Cameron’s home state, Wisconsin, and catfish to represent my home state, Arkansas. We picked cheese curds and catfish because there was a little bit of us represented in each aspect of the wedding, so we wanted to bring that to our food as well. We had other amazing food as well, such as a biscuit bar with homemade jams and braised short rib.”
Was there anything that you were stressed about before the wedding and did it work out how you had hoped?
“I can honestly say I wasn’t that stressed throughout this process, but I did worry a little about the weather. We planned for an outside wedding but luckily we had a backup option, because it rained all day the day before and was lightly raining out for most of the wedding day. After having the ceremony inside the cabin (where our reception was) I would not have wanted to change a single thing. It was perfect!”
What piece of advice would you give to brides who are currently planning their wedding day?
“I have a couple pieces of advice for brides planning their wedding day. First, I would say don’t get caught up in the stress of every detail. Easier said than done, I know. If you get caught up in making sure everything is perfect or if something doesn’t go according to plan and you get upset about it, you lose sight of the reason this is actually happening. My husband and I had a blast planning our wedding and while there were some set backs or some plans that had to change, we made the most of it and enjoyed our time as an engaged couple. In fact, we often talk about how we would love to do it all over again!
My second piece of advice is have a wedding coordinator! I planned my entire wedding but had a dear friend, who loves coordinating weddings, run the show for rehearsal and the day of the wedding. She was amazing. She made everything run smoothly and I was so calm the entire day because of her.”
How have you been settling into your life as a married couple?
“Married life has been so much fun! We both keep pretty busy schedules but soak up every minute we get to spend with each other and are having a blast being married!”
We are so very happy for you both, Jamie and Cameron, and wish you nothing but a lifetime of happiness together. We loved having you share your journey with us over the past year!
