Today we want to showcase a beautiful wedding between Polona and Franci. They had a beautiful wedding at Villa Fabiani in Slovenia.
Katja Drnovšek and Simon Avbar with Katja & Simon Photography had the opportunity to photograph this couple and here is what they had to say about the venue and location of their wedding day:
“Once renowned as one of the most majestic wine estates with a 600-year tradition, it is now known as the birthplace of architect Max Fabiani. The combination of partly renewed buildings, courtyards, gardens, the park and the vineyard creates a breath taking heaven on earth. The reception and dinner were placed on the main courtyard in front of Villa where the 600-year-old mulberry tree stands. A church ceremony was in Štanjel church of St. Daniel. Civil ceremony has also taken place on the estate at the pond in the park.
They both love Kars and they both love the history and love story beneath the estate. Since Polona participates in the renovation project she knows all the corners of the estate. So it was not hard to plan every detail for dream wedding.
Since they organized everything by themselves, their family and close friends came to the wedding venue a day early to help them out. Everyone helped in some way or other and they had so much fun, just during the preparation. A bride was truly grateful for all of them and she really loved a planning wedding process.”

Here is a little bit about the couple’s engagement story from the couple:
“It starts about four years ago, when Franci came out with THE BOX for the first time. But in that box was key of his apartment and he asked Polona to come and live with him. We’ve been living together for 3 years now. Last year was very stressful at work for both of us so it was such a pleasure to take some off time and went to spa. We went to Orchidelia spa that is super chic with stunning interior that we both love it. We enjoyed treatments very much, first sauna and then we planned a massage. We had some private jacuzzi and Polona suspected nothing when she saw candles and everything else, just another pleasant treatment. After some time Franci became to talk about all stress he had for last couple of weeks, how he is sorry for some arguments we had and that in a minute she will understand why he was so stressed. Than he reached in some dark corner and in his hand appeared THE BOX, the real one, with engagement ring in it. He had some talk about true love, respect and how we fulfill each other and then he asked Polona to marry him. And obviously she said yes.”
