I founded 3 Chicks That Click in 2006, and bring years of experience in wedding, corporate, retail, portrait, and event photography to clients in the New York/New Jersey metro area and beyond. I’m frequently asked if I’m related to Annie Leibovitz, and I often wonder – does she get asked if she’s related to me??
I’m a member of the Professional Photographers of America | NJ Chapter, WPPI, Nikon Professional Services, the Gateway Chamber of Commerce, as well as a Board and Media Committee member of the Northern Monmouth NJ Chamber of Commerce.

2) Why did you choose to become a photographer?
I’ve been a photographer all my life, and after years in the corporate world and several downsizings, I decided to follow my lifelong passion and make this wonderful experience my full time gig. I started photographing bands and concerts years ago, then began to shoot weddings, corporate clients, events, and products.
3) How long have you been a photographer?
I started my business in 2006, but have been taking pictures all my life.
4) How would you classify your style of photography?
3 Chicks That Click brings a wonderful, fun vibe to our photo shoots and weddings. Our clients say they have a great time with us and feel very comfortable. Some have even said they feel like celebrities on our photo shoots! I love weddings and being part of my client’s family for the day. Knowing we were part of one of the most important events of their lives is extremely rewarding.
5) Who or what are some of your influences on either a personal or professional level?
I’ve always been influenced by photographers who love their subjects, love what they photograph as their main interest, and don’t just go through the motions for the money. I’ve also been greatly influenced by, and am very thankful for, those creative photographers that also understand that this is a business, and to be successful, it must be run as one. So many wonderful professionals have been so generous with their knowledge and advice, and I’m extremely grateful.I share what I’ve learned whenever I can.
6) Do you have any good wedding stories?
Absolutely! Most people are interested in Bridezilla stories, but our brides have been amazing. We’ve shot outdoor weddings in over 100 degrees where our brides never broke a sweat, weddings at the beach where the couples posed with local surfers, had a bride whose limo driver threatened to call the police, and a wedding in Honduras at sunset where we had to stop and spray down the bride with bug spray.
7) What’s your preferred type of camera equipment?
I use a Nikon D700 as my primary camera, with SB800 speedlights, and an outstanding portrait lens, the 70-200 2.8. Plus a huge amount of backup equipment!
8) What would you recommend for a couple just starting their search for a wedding photographer?
Don’t be influenced by the cheapest price. Just because it’s cheap, doesn’t mean it’s good. A full time, professional photographer cannot, and will not, compete with weekend hobbyists. I always recommend that potential clients ask how much experience a photographer has had with real, paying clients – not how many of their friends’ weddings they’ve shot as a favor. I tell them to ask how much, and what kind, of backup equipment does their potential photographer bring with them? We have backups for our backups.
If a photographer only has 1 camera and 1 flash, what happens it either or both of them break or malfunction? It happens! Do they have assistants and second shooters? Do they utilize a shot list? Do they have insurance? Do they know how to manage a full wedding timeline? Are they prepared to deal with, and organize, dozens to hundreds of people during a 12 hour day? Do they drink or smoke? You don’t want them hanging out with the bartender or outside smoking when they should be documenting your wedding. Get references. If your friend or Uncle Bob with their “pro” level camera ultimately can’t provide wedding images that you love, will you be comforted that you saved all that money?
9) Any fun personal facts we should know about you?
I’ve photographed and met Bruce Springsteen several times, which explains my NJ license plate, Go Boss. My husband and I love to travel and I’ve photo-documented our trips from Belize to Iceland to the Galapagos.
Anything else to add about yourself, the wedding industry, photography, brides, grooms, etc?
Professional, high quality photography and excellent customer service aren’t cheap – they’re an investment. We give our wedding couples and their families/guests a wonderful experience with us. I believe in continuing education, going to seminars, reading about my industry, and staying on top of trends and new developments. The photography industry is evolving at warp speed, and we are moving right along with it. We love what we do and it shows!
